 The Sherwood and Mapperley Park Neighbourhood Watch has been operational for a number of years and is a collective of several smaller street or community watches.
It has forged good links with local Police and various City Council Departments in an effort to curb crime and anti-social behaviour.
A neighbourhood watch can be an excellent way of not only co-ordinating activity around the reduction of crime and fear of crime, but also be a fantastic tool in generating community cohesion and spirit. Getting to know a few neighbours, sharing information and experiences and generally keeping a look out for one another need not be onerous or time consuming but does help develop trust and re-assurance.
Why not pop into the Contact Point on Mansfield Road in Sherwood and find out about your local Neighbourhood Watch or talk with someone about setting up a new one in your area.

By registering on this website you can participate in The Sherwood and Mapperley Park Neighbourhood Watch Association (SAMPNW). You will be able to report intelligence on crime and anti-social behavior that you see or hear within our area. In association with the Local Police and the City Council, the SAMPNW can then look at the quality of life within Sherwood and Mapperley Park and use the intelligence to take appropriate action where necessary. |
