Message sent on Behalf of PC 1530 Kelly Warwick, Beat Manager for East Leake.
Following the priority setting meeting in July 2011 the local community decided Speeding in East Leake and Keyworth was an issues but that they did not wish to have it as a priority but that each area would patrol it separately.
The identified areas for speeding were to be targeted by the Police and volunteers, with those caught committing this offence to be dealt with positively.
The safer neighbourhood team joined the Community Speedwatch groups across the Cluster area to conduct patrols with them, where warning letters were then sent out to those caught speeding, as well as the Beat Team going out to those areas at other times with a speed camera to identify those speeding or to send out a message that speeding will not be tolerated in those areas.
A number of fixed penalty notices were issued across the Rushcliffe area during this time, with drivers receiving a fine and points on their licenses. Other drivers were taken to court over driving offences, including speeding. |
