Alert message sent 14/02/2012 13:58:00
Information sent on behalf of Nottinghamshire Police
Dear Edwinstowe,

We have had 72 incidents reported during the month - generally very positive - no burglaries and not too many thefts, no major incidents of note so quite encouraging!

If you have any problems with ASB where you live – please report it to us. The majority seem to be in relation to gangs of youths being rowdy and causing nuisance to members of the public. We treat these calls very seriously and youths identified as being involved in causing ASB will be dealt with accordingly.

A lot of the ASB problems seem to be occurring around the car park and surrounding areas up at the Forest. We have increased patrols in these areas and require the names of the youths involved so we can take further action. Please contact us if you have any information.

BE AWARE – We have had two reports from Edwinstowe that cash points have been tampered with. Devices have been fitted to the cash machines in an attempt to gain card details/steal money. If you think that a cash machine looks like it has been tampered with, please do not use the machine and report it ASAP. We are currently looking into these incidents in an attempt to identify the suspect.

No further trends within the crimes reported.  Please ensure that everyone is giving out the message with regards to opportunist crimes so that doors and windows are locked and items of value are not being left accesible to would be thieves!

Please reccommend the "Nottinghamshire Alert" to friends and family within the village.  We are trying to increase numbers of people we are reaching!
